Evernote Releases Two New Apps, Food and Hello, to Make Tracking Your Diet and New Friends a Breeze-I love Evernote, looking forward to trying these out

Evernote Releases Two New Apps, Food and Hello, to Make Tracking Your Diet and New Friends a Breeze iOS: Popular organization tool Evernote has released two new iOS apps today. Evernote Food is an app for iOS that aims to help you document your dishes throughout the day, while Evernote Hello wants to make it easy to remember everyone you encounter.

Evernote Food is designed to let you relive all of your favorite meals by tracking them. The purpose stretches from there, letting you catalog custom recipes, record food experiences, and manage your diet by giving you a longview of all the food you eat throughout the day.

Evernote Hello seems a bit more useful to the business world, essentially tracking the details of meeting a new person. When you meet someone, you can hand your phone to them and allow them to create a quick, basic profile to help you remember them in the future. The app also tracks your location and time, which might prove a useful reminder to remembering why or how you met someone...

More People Browse On Mobile Than Use IE6 & IE7 Combined-Finally

The latest data on browser trends from Sitepoint show that more people browse the Web on smartphones than use Internet Explorer 6 and 7 combined. But it's a new world now; 6.95% of Web activity in November 2011 was on mobile browsers, and only 6.49% was on IE 6 or 7.

As Richard MacManus pointed out this week, there are lots of interesting trends in Web browsing lately. Another big story is that Google's Chrome (our consumer product of the year) has eclipsed Mozilla Firefox as the number 2 browser for the first time. But the shift from desktop to mobile is the real trend. The days of developing for the worst desktop browser are drawing to an end, and having the best possible mobile site has become a priority...

Facebook Buys Gowalla, The Location Sharing Service That We All Thought Was Dead-One less thing to do while I'm out

gowalla150.jpgCNNMoney reports that Facebook has just acquired the location-based sharing service Gowalla. Sources say that Gowalla's employees will move to Facebok's Palo Alto offices and work on the Timeline feature, which is all about telling stories. Gowalla had recently shifted its vision to storytelling.

When Gowalla launched in 2009, it faced off against rival location-based social network Foursquare. Since then, Foursquare grew leaps and bounds in the location space, transitioning from a check-in service to a partner of daily deals giant Groupon. Gowalla got lost in the dust.
